How to make App Store screenshots in Figma
Follow these steps in order. Each one is something we do on client work.
- Create frames. 1320 × 2868 px for iPhone 6.9-inch.
- Import captures. Drag in real screenshots from the build.
- Add captions with auto layout. So text grows cleanly.
- Use styles and variables. Colours and fonts in one place; variables for languages.
- Export as PNG. At 1× since the frame is already full size.
- Check sizes before upload. Confirm pixel dimensions.
App Store screenshots Figma: key rules and context
Set up the file
- Create a page per store.
- Add frames at store sizes, e.g. 1320 x 2868.
- Make a caption component with auto layout and a text style (large, bold, high contrast).
Build the set
- Place real screenshots from the simulator or device.
- Duplicate frames for each screen; edit captions only.
- Keep the first screenshot's caption to your main benefit.
Export
- Select frames, export PNG at 1x, no transparency (add a solid background).
- Name files 01, 02... so upload order is right.
Localize and test. Duplicate the page per language for localization and make a B set for A/B testing.
Worked example (hypothetical)
This example is illustrative. The app is made up, and so are any numbers in it.
Imagine MoodMap uses one Figma page with five frames and a text variable set for English and Spanish. Switching the mode updates all captions, and the team exports both sets in one go.
Common mistakes
- Exporting at 2×. Doubles the size and fails upload.
- Raster captions. Can't translate.
- No styles. Hard to update.
- Fake UI. Must show the real app.

How we measure the result
For App Store screenshots Figma, success is measured on conversion, not looks. App Analytics reports product page views and conversion rate, and product page optimization tests show estimated lift per treatment. Store listing experiments in Play Console compare your variants against the current listing.
